Finally ended up at a place I can order fried clams from. Luckily, we got here early, because apparently you really should have reservations because they get busy and fill up quickly.
So, they ended up having some room at the bar for us to sit down and eat. Mikki was behind the bar and she was just awesome. She was friendly and attentive, and at the same time, a busy & a very hard worker. She is impressive…
Once we were seated, we were quickly served some tasty bread. Our meals were pretty good, although I order fried clams and wished they were a little crispier, but I never complain & send food back. I don’t think it’s a good idea and don’t trust it, so I tend to go with the flow. The coleslaw was very good.
I had a couple of beers and they were both ice-cold.
Besides the restaurant, there’s a market on the other side, where you can purchase fresh seafood items to take home, or wherever…
The food is incredibly good, I'm still craving for more. We ate so much, i could barely breathe afterwards! We had oysters, clams and the tuna tower (amazing) for appetizers, the crab stuffed cod and the swordfish for entrees (both were beyond perfection). cocktails were also very good. I'm looking forward to my next time in town, just to taste that again! The service was also good and efficient, very friendly and the prices were good too. Do not hesitate to come to this place!
Such delicious food!! Stopped here on our drive to Mystic and so glad we did. The server informed us that they recently changed lobster and now it is sweeter - I’m so glad they did because the lobster meat was juicy and delicious! Highly recommend the Captains Roll which has fresh crab meat and lobster meat. We also split the seafood sampler which lets you enjoy multiple types of seafood at once. I wish the portion size was a tiny bit bigger but overall it was great and I’d order again!
Food tasted really good, great seasoning. The mussels were actually good, didn’t really need lemon for them. The only “complaint” I would have is that I paid over $20 for shrimp scampi and they legit gave me a bowl of pasta with TWO shrimp. Again, flavor was great. But two shrimp for $20+… come on man I feel like I paid $20 plus for a bowl of pasta…
First, my waitress Mickey, was the best, she blew my mind, so fine. The complimentary bread, corn bread and butter were so good. I started with the lobster bisque and Cod taco with the perfect bam bam sauce, I could have had 5. Then I had the muscles in Dijon sauce and I loved them, I can't wait to go back for more. I ended with the tuna melt on a croissant, different, fresh, and the perfect finish. I stopped into their seafood market on the other side and loved these guys enthusiasm, I learned a lot and tried a shrimp cocktail, wow, loved it. If you're looking for seafood or a seafood meal, this is a place you should try as soon as possible.
One of the better seafood restaurants in the area. This review is for the restaurant only.
Was looking for a seafood restaurant to go for lunch. After Reading other reviews decided to try this establishment. It was a fairly warm day but we chose to sit outside and it was nice and pleasant.
ordered the baked cod with vegetables and fingerlings. It was very well prepared in a traditional New England style.
We also had a lobster roll. It was prepared to perfection, super buttery, The roll was toasted properly. Overall it was very nice.
Our waiter Kyle was very good & knowledgeable. Towards the end of our stay we were a bit pressed for time and he assisted us quickly.
It was a nice pleasant lunch and we will definitely be back.
I dined here for the first time on June 10, 2023. I ordered lobster Mac and cheese and Nick’s calamari. I found the lobster to be rather dry and over cooked. Nonetheless, I returned here on July 5, 2023 and sat at the bar.(photo attached) I ordered a shrimp basket with a side salad. The waitress offered me bread, which I accepted. The shrimp was out of this world- juicy, lightly battered with a succulent flavor. I forget the name of the drink but it was on the bitter side. It is not something that I would order again, but I gave a shot. The waitress told me that is was pretty popular.
I usually go somewhere else on Fridays with my mom. However, I told her that she had to drive up to me and try this place. She was happy she did! We both ordered the jumbo shrimp with a side salad.
The service was decent, however both my mom and I had to request a refill. An attentive server should not allow a glass to reach empty.
The reason I did not provide five stars is because the hostess told me that she could seat us if we wouldn’t stay past 6:30 p.m., otherwise she would have to see us outside. Although, we had no intentions on staying until 6:30 p.m. given it was only 5:07 p.m., I was taken back, as I was unaware that you needed a reservation or there was a time limit to the seating. Nonetheless, we were out in under 45 minutes.
The food is good, so I may just return, despite the aforementioned turnoff.

A regular diner😋
I have never been to Close Harbour Seafood so I did not know what to expect. We were greeted warmly and they do accept reservations which we took advantage of.
The Menu was diverse and I picked the Whole belly clams right away. Mom chose the lobster roll and Josh chose the Chicken tacos. The staff and atmosphere was excellent and the food was served quickly.
My taste buds were completely satisfied as the clams were delicious and of large portions. The lobster roll was packed with delicious lobster and the Chicken tacos were excellent as well.
I highly recommend a visit and do it as soon as you can.
